Patients at Haughton Thornley Medical Centres can now send secure messages into the practice and received replies via the internet on their computer, tablet device or smartphone (android or apple device currently).
Please look at the slides above to learn more about how the service works. (Press the maximise button so that you can see the slides more easily).
Currently we recommend you use this service to send secure non-urgent messages
where timing is not essential. We will endeavour to try to respond to messages within 2 working days although sometimes this may take longer and often we hope to respond much sooner. Currently we are unable to send you a message to say there is a message waiting for you by text or an email (although we may be able to do this in the future).
The process requires you to log into Patient Access
and slide to the bottom of the screen where you can send a message. A member of staff or clinician will respond to your message. Once this happens, when you next log in, you will be able to see a green banner on the top of the screen informing you that there is a message for you to see. You can then send a reply to the message as well.
Please order repeat prescriptions, book appointments with the nurse (currently for depo-provera injections only although we hope to expand this in the future) using the specific sections on the website.
We do not recommend sending an email to the surgery because email is not a secure method of communication and we cannot guarantee your privacy if you write personal information in the email including your contact details, health problems etc. However you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
if you have any problems with the service or non-clinical issues if you so wish.
Fo all URGENT matters including
- Requests for visits
- Where you need a clinician to call you back
- You need to book an appointment to be seen face to face
